A Real & Sustainable Health Journey: Why I’m Starting Over in My 40s

Feeling Like You’re Falling Behind?

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably looked at your life at some point and thought:
“I should be further along than this.”
“Why can’t I figure it out?”
“I’m overwhelmed all the time.”
“How do I just be me?”

I reflect inward a lot. I overanalyze. And no matter how many things I do well, I somehow still find a way to feel like I’m falling short.

In a world full of curated perfection—highlight reels, filters, and wellness trends—it’s easy to believe that everyone else has it all figured out. But let’s be real. No one’s life is perfect. Everyone has something they’re struggling through, even if it doesn’t show up on camera.

That’s not to deflect from anyone’s greatness—it’s just the truth.

And maybe, just maybe, hearing that helps you exhale. Helps you feel less alone.
Not because you take joy in someone else’s hard times, but because you realize—it isn’t just you.
This is normal.
And you are okay.

The truth is: we all have our ups and downs. And even when two people face the exact same challenge, they’ll process it in completely different ways depending on who they are, where they are, and what they’ve been through.

Why I'm Sharing This Series

So, what is this blog series really about?

I’m on a journey. One that isn’t polished or perfect. I’m in the middle of rebuilding my health in a way that’s real—and, more importantly, sustainable.

That means:

  • No quick fixes.
  • No impossible rules.
  • No shame when things don’t go exactly as planned.

(That’s the plan, but I’ll be honest—I know I’ll still shame myself often. I’m working on it.)

What I’m Working On Right Now

Over the next few months, I’ll be focusing on four pillars of health and healing:

  1. Mental Health – Breaking free from unhealthy thoughts and patterns.
  2. Physical Health – Rebuilding strength, energy, and mobility at my own pace.
  3. Balance – Learning how to prioritize what truly matters without burnout.
  4. Self-Care – Letting go of guilt and learning how to show myself grace.

I’m in my early 40s, and lately, I don’t even recognize my body—or my mind some days.
It feels like everything’s changing, and not in the way I imagined.

But maybe… just maybe… this is the era where I stop fighting myself and start truly embracing who I am—flaws, strengths, all of it.

What You Can Expect

This series isn’t coming from a place of expertise.
I’m not a doctor. I’m not a personal trainer.

I’m someone trying.
Someone walking through it honestly.

There will be wins.
There will be setbacks.

But if you're on a similar journey, I hope this space feels like an open door—where you can exhale, feel seen, and know that you’re not doing it alone.
